The members of the New York City Police Department Emerald Society Pipes and Drums wish to offer their heartfelt condolences to the family of NYPD Police Officer Miosotis Familia Killed in the LOD
On Wednesday morning, July 5th 2017 Officer Miosotis Familia, 48, died after she was shot in the head by a man who fired a revolver into her RMP in the Bronx. Officer Familia was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she succumbed to her wound three hours later. The gunman, who was fatally shot by the police a short time later, after he drew a gun, was paroled four years ago after serving seven years in state prison.
