The members of the New York City Police Department Emerald Society Pipes and Drums wish to offer their heartfelt condolences to the family of NYPD Sergeant Paul Tuozzolo Killed in the LOD
At around 3 p.m. November 4 2016, a man forced himself into a woman’s apartment on Noble Ave. in the Bronx. Two Sergeants were close by and responded to the home invasion. The officers spotted the suspect vehicle, near the scene and approached the vehicle.
As the two Sergeants approached the suspect, he opened fire on them with a .45 caliber pistol. The officers returned fire, killing the suspect while he was still inside of his Jeep. Sergeant Paul Tuozzolo was shot in the chest and head, he was taken to the Jacobi Medical Center where he died from his wounds. Sergeant Paul Tuozzolo leaves behind a wife and 2 young children. He was a 19-year veteran of the NYPD. The other Sergeant has been identified as 31-year-old Emmanuel Kwo who is a 9-year veteran of the NYPD. He was struck in the leg and is expected to be alright.
